Addressing Asbestos Problems

Disclosure of Information

In order to ensure customers understand our efforts in relation to asbestos issues, we started to disclose our activities on our Website last August, and also published a system for all customers to check asbestos in steel frame housings in October.

Usage of Materials Containing Asbestos

Now we are not selling homes that contain asbestos, but we had previously constructed buildings with materials that contain nondispersive asbestos called molded plate in exterior wall materials, roof materials and interior materials. However, these materials are fixed with cement, etc., so we believe there is little chance asbestos can disperse and it will not cause health problems in normal occupancy circumstances. Some general constructions, including condominiums we have sold may have been built with materials that contain dispersive asbestos, such as airborne asbestos. But in these cases, we also believe that asbestos will not disperse into the air unless the corresponding areas are deteriorated or damaged.

When Dismantling Buildings

It is estimated that dismantling work will be on the rise. Therefore, we will engage in our work while complying with all the various laws and regulations including prevention regulations on asbestos-related illnesses, and protecting our staff as well as neighborhoods from being exposed to dispersed asbestos and other health hazards.
