In 1959, Daiwa House Industry introduced to the world the “Midget House,” the so-called starting point of prefabricated housing. Over the next half century, the Company has developed steel-frame and wooden single-family housing while refining its house-building techniques and expertise.
The Company presents a diverse product lineup. This includes the flagship product “xevo ∑ (sigma),” which has a high degree of seismic resistance capabilities that allow it to withstand even repeated major earthquakes, while achieving comfort through External Heat Insulation and the roomy spaciousness that comes with high ceilings of 2m72cm. There is also the wooden single-family housing product “xevo GranWood,” “Wood Residence MARE,” the online service “Lifegenic,” where users can try out Web-based home design that is both simple and fun, and “skye” for three-, four-, and five-story buildings. We offer the optimal plan that fits in with the vision you have for your future, not only for dedicated residences, but also for combined rental residences, stores, and clinics.
We have established Livestyle Design as our vision to design and deliver the best answers at that time staying close to the lifestyles of residents and their changing values. We also propose our original teleworking style that allows people to comfortably work from home, “Kaji (Chore) Share House” where the burden of housework is shared amongst a family, and houses that are self-sufficient in electricity in preparation for disasters.
In tandem with this, we are proposing the ZEH concept for all new single-family houses and developing the SECUREA brand of houses in housing development projects to promote sustainable home building and community development.
In housing construction, our Team-xevo concept gives form to customers’ needs by promoting the building of homes based on comprehensive proposal capabilities that come by bringing to the same table sales staff, together with designers, interior coordinators and other professional staff. Even after they’ve moved in, we provide support to residents for safe and comfortable living through detail-oriented after-support and long-term guarantees.
Based on a cumulative total of approximately 1.18 million rental housing units* supplied under the D-ROOM brand nationwide, we have developed products that anticipate the needs of tenants and the times, and as a pioneer in prefabricated housing, provide tenants with the satisfaction of “owner-occupied quality.” We will contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality in 2050 through the development of the urban-type rental housing GRACA and mid-to-high-rise rental housing, as well as the increasing prevalence of ZEH-M.
Based on the philosophy of “a true relationship begins after construction,” and in a three-company collaboration between Daiwa House Industry, Daiwa Living and Daiwa House Chintai Reform, we are providing to land owners “Yuyu Support/DAPS,” a framework in which owners can engage in rental housing management with peace of mind. In addition to the mainstay service of periodic building diagnosis after delivery, we support the owner’s long-term stable management through asset succession consulting by specialists and management and operation on behalf of the owner. We also provide opportunities for owners to exchange information among themselves, such as by developing owner associations throughout Japan.

In our Retail and Wholesale Facilities Business, we employ the LOC System for effective land utilization that jointly meets the needs of land owners looking to secure tax planning and profitability through effective real estate utilization, together with tenant companies seeking potential sites for new business development.
The LOC System utilizes Daiwa House Industry’s nationwide information network to accumulate information on land and store openings. This system proposes optimal business plans based on a wealth of know-how and in-depth research, and also provides total production services, including building design and construction.
Both land owners and tenant companies are enabled to conduct stable business over the long term, contributing to new community development and regional revitalization.
The General Construction Business has its roots in the “Pipe House,” a warehouse offered as our founding product in 1955, and now builds offices, factories, and other business facilities for corporate clients. Currently, we promote the development of multi-tenant logistics facilities, known as “DPL,” in Japan and overseas, and contribute to the development of regional lifestyle infrastructure. Our professional staff supports a wide range of projects, including logistics facilities, medical & nursing care facilities, food & pharmaceutical facilities, and data centers, and makes land use proposals.
Since commencing Condominium Business operations in 1977, we have aimed to provide products with high added value looking to be considerate of the environment and society while contributing to the community in addition to offering high asset value. We have supplied 103,398 condominium units* nationwide.
Daiwa House Industry offers the “Premist” brand of condominiums throughout Japan to meet the diverse lifestyles of people who live in condominiums and seek a high quality of life. Based on the brand concept of “A place that will continue to be loved,” we pursue the provision of basic performance, comfort, safety, and management systems essential for long-lasting homes, while making full use of our expertise as a house builder.

Utilizing our technological acumen and marketing capabilities, we contribute to the spread of renewable energy by focusing on EPC, the business for design and construction of power plants for renewable energy, PPS, our electric power retail business, and IPP, the renewable energy power generation business for solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.
EPC is the abbreviation for engineering, procurement and construction.
PPS is the abbreviation for power producer and supplier. It generally refers to new electric power.
IPP is the abbreviation for independent power producer. It refers to a business operator with power generation facilities which sells electricity.
We were a step ahead of today’s global era, having started to do business in China in 1972 when diplomatic relations between Japan and China were restored. Since the 1980s, the Company has established joint ventures and local subsidiaries, and undertaking full-fledged operations, has built, operated, and managed rental housing for expatriates. For over 30 years we have promoted business activities with local roots, including real estate development, hotel operation and management, and outsourcing.
Today, the Company has launched new businesses across Asia, Australia, and the United States, and is investigating new business opportunities in other countries as well.
